Muswell Hill N10
This was slightly tired garden, which did nothing to entice the owners out into it and the view to the rear included a large building.
A new seating area, a puppy friendly astoturf lawn and plenty of planting completely transformed it. Hornbeam hedging at the rear provides a sense of enclosure and calm.

East Finchley N2
This was large light filled garden with lots of potential which had a large lawn with drainage issues and some overgrown planting.
An existing small patio was extended and paths laid to other seating areas in the garden and a workshop designed and built by the client.
A lot of work was done to improve the drainage and a new lawn and large planting beds were added.

Muswell Hill N10
The clients initially called me in for help with a new bike shed but the job soon expanded to include a new seating area in the garden with a path and new planting.
The existing granite terrace was slightly enlarged and linked to the new cedar deck with a path in granite slabs and gravel. The large bike shed and utility area enclosed by a cedar batten screen disappears into the background.

West Hampstead NW2
This front garden in West Hampstead was used only for parking and the clients wanted a softer look while still retaining one car parking space.
The mellow pavers (SUDs compliant) were laid to incorporate a driveway and a curved path to mirror the bay window with separate pedestrian and vehicle entrances.
Planting included three Amelanchier 'Robin Hill' and an Acer 'Osakazuki' with a mix of perennials and shrubs to soften the entrance and provide views from the bay window.

Planting Projects
Having come to garden design through a love of plants, designing planting schemes is probably my favourite part of the job. I am always delighted to design planting for people who have either completed hard landscaping along with a house build and have empty borders or people who have a garden with tired borders which need a revamp.
